Admission Policy for Mides Elite Academy (High School: Ages 11–16)
Introduction
Welcome to Mides Elite Academy, where we provide exceptional education tailored to students aged 11–16. Our admission policy ensures a fair and transparent process to admit students who share our values of academic excellence, personal growth, and community engagement.
1. Eligibility Criteria
Mides Elite Academy admits students aged 11 to 16 into Year 7 through Year 11 based on the following criteria:
1.1. Age Requirements
Applicants must meet the age requirements for the year group they are applying to, as follows:
Year 7: 11 years old by September 1st of the academic year.
Year 8: 12 years old by September 1st of the academic year.
Year 9: 13 years old by September 1st of the academic year.
Year 10: 14 years old by September 1st of the academic year.
Year 11: 15 years old by September 1st of the academic year.
1.2. Academic Requirements
Submission of the most recent school report or academic transcript.
Completion of an entrance assessment in core subjects such as English, Mathematics, and Science.
For Year 10 and 11 applicants, a review of prior coursework to ensure alignment with Mides Elite Academy’s curriculum.
1.3. Behavioral and Character Expectations
Demonstrated alignment with Mides Elite Academy’s values of respect, responsibility, and integrity.
No record of significant disciplinary issues.
1.4. Special Considerations
Mides Elite Academy is an inclusive institution and evaluates applications from students with special educational needs (SEN) on a case-by-case basis to determine the availability of resources to support their learning.
2. Application Process
The admission process is designed to ensure a thorough and supportive evaluation of each applicant.
2.1. Step 1: Application Submission
Complete the online or physical application form by the stated deadline.
Pay the non-refundable application fee.
Submit required documents, including:
Birth certificate or proof of age.
Most recent academic report or transcript.
Two recommendation letters (one from a teacher and one from a non-family member).
2.2. Step 2: Entrance Assessment
All applicants must sit for an entrance assessment in English, Mathematics, and Science.
Assessment scores will be reviewed alongside academic records to determine suitability for the academic program.
2.3. Step 3: Interview
Shortlisted applicants and their parents/guardians will be invited for an interview with a member of the Admissions Committee.
The interview aims to understand the applicant’s academic goals, interests, and compatibility with Mides Elite Academy’s ethos.
2.4. Step 4: Offer of Admission
Successful applicants will receive a formal offer of admission.
Parents/guardians must accept the offer by signing the enrollment agreement and paying the enrollment fee within the specified timeframe.
3. Key Admission Dates
Application Period: Opens in October and closes in January for the following academic year.
Entrance Assessments: Conducted in February.
Interviews: Scheduled in March.
Offer Letters Issued: By mid-April.
Enrollment Deadline: By the end of April.
4. Policies for Late or Transfer Applications
Applications received after the deadline will be considered on a case-by-case basis, subject to the availability of places.
Transfer applications must include previous school records and may require additional assessments to ensure alignment with Mides Elite Academy’s curriculum.
5. Fee Structure
Application Fee: Non-refundable and payable at the time of submission.
Enrollment Fee: Payable upon acceptance of the admission offer.
Annual Tuition Fee: Payable in installments or as a lump sum. Details are provided in the fee schedule.
6. Appeals Process
Applicants who wish to appeal an admission decision may submit a written appeal to the Admissions Committee within 10 days of receiving the decision.
Appeals will be reviewed, and a final decision will be communicated within 15 days.
